TT-FWDD honors Tahoe Forest as 2016 Agency Partner of the Year

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Tahoe Truckee Future Without Drug Dependence Coalition members, community partners and volunteers gathered to honor its volunteer base for their efforts to prevent community and teen drug and alcohol abuse at Truckee Town Hall on Sept. 27.

To highlight the value and role community partners play, one agency is recognized by TT-FWDD awarded for their outstanding service in 2016. This agency was presented with a plaque to commemorate their efforts and commitment.

TT-FWDD’s 2016 Agency Partner of the Year award went to Tahoe Forest Health System, in appreciation for their outstanding vision and support of substance abuse prevention efforts for Tahoe-Truckee youth.



Among other accomplishments, Tahoe Forest was recognized for launching a Prescription Drug Task Force and Chronic Nonmalignant Pain Advisory Group; adopting safe pain medication prescribing guidelines, as well as chronic pain management, prescription drug monitoring systems and mutual pain medication agreements; and being a key sponsor of Safe Disposal Project brochures, prescription drug take-back event advertisements, and AlcoholEdu.
