Tuesday’s forecast: Mild weather today with some changes on the way

Simon Smith
Sun news service

Another warm, late winter day is in store today but with some small changes that will begin to signal the return to winter later this week.

For today, generally partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions along with warm temperatures can be expected.

Highs will once again warm into the 50s with mid 40s at the higher elevations around 8,000 feet.

Winds will be a little stronger today with southwest winds in the 15 to 25 mph range with stronger gusts to near 50 mph over the higher elevations.

Winds will decrease somewhat tonight and skies will remain partly cloudy with low temperatures dropping into the mid 20s to mid 30s with the typical warm areas being along Tahoe’s east and north shores.

Wednesday will most likely be the last “warm” day for a while as significant changes are in store by Thursday with a return to much colder more typical March weather and the potential for significant snowfall by the weekend.
