Two candidates will be interviewed

The Tahoe-Truckee Unified School District Board of Trustees will interview candidates and select a new board member in open session today at 4 p.m.

The new Area 5 board member will replace lakeside representative John Wojcik, who recently resigned and plans to move out of the area.

Candidates are Carol V Wilmar and Cindy Gustafson, both of Tahoe City. Gustafson has been involved with the Tahoe-Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation for almost 10 years and is also active with Measure R committees and the TTUSD fiscal management committee. Wilmar has had more than 24 years teaching experience at the middle and high school levels and is currently a TTUSD substitute in grades K-12. Tonight’s regular board meeting will be in Kings Beach at the North Lake Tahoe Conference Center at 8318 North Lake Blvd. Open session will resume at 6 p.m.

– Measure C and R Oversight Committee reports

– School Facilities Needs Analysis

– Introduction of new Food Service Director

– Information on Sierra College Twelve Bridges Workforce Development Program

– Excellence in Education report

– Configuration of elementary school for Sierra Mountain Middle School conversion project

– Measure C Oversight Committee concerns
