Two children sledding hit by cars

TRUCKEE “-Truckee Police responded to two vehicle versus sled collisions during the holiday week.

A press release from the Truckee Police Department said the two accidents ” neither fatal ” underscore the importance of safety and parental supervision during snow play.

In one case, an 8-year-old was struck by a parent who had arrived home and was unaware the child was sledding in the driveway, according to the release.

Despite being pinned under the car, the 8-year-old escaped without serious injury, according to the release.

The other case involved a 5-ear-old unable to stop when he sledded into the roadway, who suffered a head injury, according to the release.

IN 2006, a 4-year-old was killed after sledding down the driveway into the road.
