Two Truckee police officers receive MADD honors for numerous DUI arrests

SACRAMENTO, Calif. and#8212; Mothers Against Drunk Driving recognized two Truckee police officers for their efforts against driving under the influence on Feb. 23.

The Sacramento chapter of MADD recognized Arthur and#8220;Jrand#8221; Munoz and Ryan Moreau as part of the Office of Traffic Safetyand#8217;s and#8220;Avoidand#8221; program, according to a press release from the Truckee Police Department.

Munoz had more than 30 arrests for DUI in 2009, and Moreau had more than 20, according to the release.

The MADD luncheon recognized more than 100 officers from the Sacramento and Central Sierra region, who netted more than 6,500 arrests for impaired driving, according to the release.

The Truckee Police Department is part of the Nevada County and#8220;Avoid the 5and#8221; grant, which includes Grass Valley PD, Nevada City PD, Truckee PD, Nevada County Sheriffand#8217;s and California Highway Patrol.
