Unseasonably cool with showers this weekend

A large low pressure system over the southwest U.S. will keep the Tahoe area under mostly cloudy skies and cool temperatures through Sunday.

Highs are expected to reach the mid to upper 50s each day this weekend with lows in the upper 20s to mid 30s at lake level. The daytime temperatures are about 10 degrees below the seasonal normal for late May.

An upper level disturbance dropping south from the Pacific Northwest on Saturday will likely bring an increase in showers and a slight chance of Thunderstorms by the afternoon.

If you are planning outdoor activities this weekend the best weather should be the morning hours before daytime heating triggers afternoon convective showers.
