Truckee’s public utility board of directors on Wednesday voted to hire a recruitment firm to help search for the district’s next general manager.
The Truckee Donner Public Utility District’s long-time general manager, Peter Holzmeister, in April announced that he would retire in August.
The district is seeking an interim manager to serve until hiring a permanent executive.
At Wednesday’s meeting, the board interviewed representatives from four management search firms.
In the end, the directors took 15 minutes to choose Rocklin-based Ralph Anderson and Associates, a consulting firm that specializes in recruiting executives for publicly owned companies.
The company’s Michael Lawson said locating, recruiting and negotiating a contract with a new permanent general manager will take about three months.
An employee at the Truckee utility said the district will spend about $20,000 on the search.
Lawson said his company was motivated to search for a new top executive for Truckee’s utility district.
“We’re eager to work with the district and community,” Lawson said.
The directors will meet again next week ” this time for a regularly scheduled meeting ” in the Truckee Donner Public Utility District’s board room at 11570 Donner Pass Road in Truckee. For more information or a meeting agenda call 587.3896 or visit the Web site at http://www.tdpud.org.
