Vail Resorts releases 2011-12 season pass info

LAKE TAHOE, Calif. and#8212; Vail Resorts has announced its 2011-12 season pass options for Heavenly Mountain and Northstar-At-Tahoe ski resorts.

At the top of the pricing tier, Vail will offer the $649 Epic Pass ($329 child), which allows unlimited access to all Vail properties throughout California and Colorado, including Heavenly and Northstar, according to a Monday announcement.

The $499 Epic Local Pass ($379 teen/$249 child) also provides access to all seven Vail mountains, but is restricted on major holidays. The Tahoe Value Pass at $379 ($299 teen and senior/$179 child) will give skiers and riders seven-day-a-week access to Heavenly and Sunday through Friday access to Northstar Resort.

Heavenly did consider keeping Sierra-At-Tahoe Resort on the pass, but the deal didnand#8217;t work for either parent company, said Russ Pecoraro, a spokesman for Heavenly.

Sierra would not comment on its exclusion from the Vail pass options and would not hint at other partnerships.

and#8220;We are excited about the products that are being developed for next season,and#8221; said Steve Hemphill, a spokesman for Sierra.

Other 2011-12 season pass prices will be published as they are made available.
