Vashti Hartwell ThomasVashti Hartwell Thomas, 94, beloved by her family, was born in Dickens, Texas on June 28, 1911, raised in New Mexico and Arizona, lived in San Diego, Calif., for 40 years before moving to Kona, Hawaii, with her late husband George C. Thomas III. She resided in Kona for 31 years before moving back to La Jolla, Calif., and then moved to Reno, Nev., where she passed away on Jan. 12.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Cliff and Joan Hartwell of Truckee; sister Clara Mastin of Phoenix, Ariz.; stepson George C. Thomas IV and wife Terry of Corona del Mar, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.She lived 94 wonderful years and loved her family dearly.Donations in her name may be sent to Tahoe Forest Hospice, PO Box 759, Truckee, CA, 96160, or to your favorite charity.Services will be held at a later date in Kona, Hawaii.
