A customer at the Mane Event Salon sat waiting for her hair appointment Wednesday afternoon when a Subaru Forester burst through the building’s front wall and into the back of her chair.
“I couldn’t get my foot on the brake pedal,” said the driver, Ardith Anderson, an 84 year-old Grass Valley woman who had been on her way into the salon for an appointment.
Anderson and the two shop employees inside the building at 144 Hughes Road in Grass Valley were uninjured, but the customer who had been sitting in front of the wall was transferred to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.
Grass Valley Police and Fire Departments responded to the crash within minutes of the impact and arrived on scene at 12:20 p.m.
“It appears to be some sort of parking-maneuver-gone-wrong,” said Grass Valley Police Sergeant Jason Perry.
A further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
