Volunteer Corner: Brent Collinson
How are you involved at the Wellspring Counseling Center?
I’m the president of the board of directors.
What are your duties as president?
The main thing is to preside over the board of directors meetings. I am involved with fundraising and I act as a liason between Suzie (Coyote), the executive director, and the board members.
How are you involved with Wellspring’s wine fund-raiser?
I make sure we have enough wine and hors d’oeuvres. I’m not the only one who does this, but that’s what’s involved in putting this on.
Why do you volunteer?
For several reasons ” I like to give back to the community. People welcomed me here. I want to do my part to give back to the community.
Where else do you volunteer?
I volunteer at Little League baseball, soccer, Truckee Donner Parks and Recreation District league basketball. I’m the past president of the Truckee Rotary Club. I’ve had about 25 years coordinating the local blood drives. I was also the past president of the Tahoe Truckee Bar Association.
How long have you lived in Truckee?
What do you like to do in your free time?
Either participating in sports or coaching youth sports. I don’t know… read or enjoy the outdoors.
