Tahoe Forest Hospice Gift & Thrift Store

I volunteer at the thrift store. I participated in the planning stages [of the store]. We opened in July of 2001. I volunteer 10 to 14 hours a week, unless Im out of town.

I would say we have a solid base of 40 and about 25 people that fluctuate.

I definitely believe in the concept of hospice. My husband had hospice care. Im not sure I want to do patient care at this time. And I have fun.

I walk my dog (laughs). I belong to the Soroptomist Club . . . since 1982. The Truckee Community Christmas is a once a year thing. I ski and snowshoe in the winter. Ive been here since 1969.

I love the environment and the sense of community. The Suns Sierra Countis interviewed Pat Callahan for Volunteer Corner.
