Vonn moves up in World Cup standings; Mancuso, Cook miss points

ST. MORITZ, Switzerland (Feb. 3) ” Lindsey Vonn led the U.S. Women’s Ski Team with fourth-place finishes in Saturday’s downhill and Sunday’s super G. Already the downhill points leader, Vonn crept close to the overall World Cup lead, moving into second just 89 points behind Nicole Hosp of Austria.

On Sunday, Truckee’s Stacey Cook was just out of the points in 32nd, while Julia Mancuso of Olympic Valley finished 38th.

In Saturday’s downhill, Mancuso, who skied through a fog bank as she started, finished 25th and Cook 36th.

After 25 World Cup races, Hosp ” the defending overall champion ” has 957 points. Vonn is second at 868 and Mancuso is sixth.
