Warm weather through weekend

Jim Grant/Sun News ServiceVarious forms of summer recreation are evident on Lake Tahoe.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE ” Expect warmer weather to continue through weekend.

In fact, after the past few days of below-average temperatures for early August, temperatures this weekend will rise to a little above average.

Expect mostly sunny conditions for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with gusty afternoon west to southwest winds in the 15 to 25 mph range, and some stronger gusts possible especially Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

High temperatures will warm into the upper 70s to lower 80s, with mid to upper 80s near Markleeville.

With the dry air and clear skies, overnight lows will be comfortable in the 40s to lower 50s.

With the very dry conditions and potential for stronger winds again, please be aware of the heightened fire danger that exisits.

The National Weather Service in Reno may issue a Fire Weather Watch or possibly a Red Flag Warning at some point this weekend.

Please check out http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/reno for the latest and most updated weather and fire forecasts.

Have a great weekend!
