Water rate changes up for adoption at Truckee utility district

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The Truckee Donner Public Utility District could approve a 1.75 percent increase in resident water rates for each of the the next two years.
The districtand#8217;s board of directors meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, and will consider the new water rates, among other items.
and#8220;This is the culmination of the rate study, recommendations and workshops,and#8221; said Steven Poncelet, public information and conservation manager for the district.
The new rates would also become metered as meters are installed throughout the district, meaning bills would go up or down depending on usage, he said.
and#8220;Our goal is to be revenue neutral and equitable,and#8221; Poncelet said of the new metered rate.
Wednesdayand#8217;s meeting is at the districtand#8217;s headquarters at 1570 Donner Pass Road.
