Weather forecast: Sunny skies should give way to snow in Truckee

A string of sunny winter days should give way to snow by the end of the holiday weekend in Truckee, the National Weather Service Office in Reno said on Saturday, Feb. 17.

The forecast for Saturday calls for sunny skies, a high near 53 degrees, and a southwest wind of 5-10 mph.

There is a 60 percent chance of snow on Sunday, Feb. 18. New snow accumulation of 1 inch is possible. The high Sunday should be near 38 degrees.

The chance for snow improves in the evening with the odds climbing to 70 percent. New snow accumulation of 1-2 inches is possible.

There is also a 50 percent chance of snow on Presidents Day.
