Weather forecast: Sunny skies to start the week in Truckee

The weather outlook is bright in Truckee through the first half of the week with mostly sunny skies in the forecast through Wednesday, March 7, the National Weather Service Office in Reno said.

The forecast for Monday, March 5, calls for sunny skies with a high near 39 degrees and a low around 9 degrees. Areas of freezing fog are in the forecast after midnight, but it should be mostly clear.

There are also no traffic restrictions on Interstate 80, the California Department of Transportation said on Monday.

Tuesday, March, 6, projects to be a warmer day with a high near 45 degrees and a low around 18 degrees. There should be areas of freezing fog before 9 a.m., and after midnight Tuesday.

Wednesday, March 7, should be warmer yet with a high around 49 degrees and a low near 27 degrees. There is a 20 percent chance of snow after 10 p.m. Wednesday.

There is also a chance of rain and snow on Thursday, March 8.
