Weather update: More snow and rain in Truckee Tahoe

LAKE TAHOE/TRUCKEE ” A winter weather advisory is in effect in the Tahoe Truckee Area Sunday. Three to seven inches of snow and frozen rain fell below 7000′ and six to 12 above 7000′. Southwest winds of 13 to 35 mph with gusts of up to 45 are expected Sunday afternoon through Monday morning.

Nine inches of snow fell above 7000′ the Truckee-Tahoe region Saturday night with heavy snowfall expected Sunday night. The National Weather Service in Reno is forecasting another storm Tuesday night into Wednesday and another storm on Thursday.

Visibility is low and slick roads especially at higher elevations with expected chain controls and traffic delays Sunday night.
