Sun news service
Our first taste of spring is about to end later today with one more mild day today although with mostly cloudy skies and blustery conditions, it may not feel as warm.
Today’s highs should warm into the lower 50s with near 40 at the higher elevations. Winds will pick up from the southwest at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 mph possible around the lake with ridge gusts approaching 60 mph this afternoon.
Tonight will continue the mostly cloudy skies with outbreaks of rain and snow showers especially along the Sierra as a weather system begins to impact our region.
Snow levels will be near 6,500 feet with little accumulation is expected and mainly above 7,000 feet on Tahoe’s west shore. Lows will drop into 30s with gusty winds continuing.
Look for much colder conditions to continue to spread over the region Thursday through the weekend along with occasional outbreaks of snow and blustery conditions.
