Weekend forecast: Cooler and windy with a chance of showers this afternoon

A weak upper low will move into Northern California this afternoon bringing increasing clouds and gusty southwest winds to 30 mph.

The track of this low will bring scattered showers to areas north of Interstate 80 with isolated showers possible over much of Lake Tahoe in the late afternoon and evening.

Highs today are forecast to reach the mid to upper 60s under cloudy skies. Lows tonight are expected to drop into the upper 20s to lower 30s with partial clearing overnight.

A drier westerly flow will develop for Saturday and Sunday in the wake of this upper low for mostly sunny skies and near seasonal temperatures.

Highs this weekend are expected to remain in the upper 60s to lower 70s with lows in the upper 20s to lower 30s. The last weekend of the summer should be very pleasant with light winds and mild daytime temperature…go out and enjoy it.
