Weekend weather shaping up nicely

Dan Thrift/Sun News ServiceTori, 8, left, and Maddy Hill, 6, from Carmichael, feed and frolic with the birds Thursday at Regan Beach.

More warm, sunny and dry weather is expected for our region this weekend except for a rogue afternoon thunderstorm over eastern Mono County near Bridgeport. Keep that in mind if you’re headed to the Eastern Sierra to hike or fish.

Otherwise, expect above-average temperatures and lots of sunshine with a scattering of clouds from time to time.

Highs each day will climb into the 80s to near 90 in Markleeville and Truckee. Morning lows will drop into the 40s to near 50, except for lower to mid 50s on the East Shore and Kingsbury Grade areas.

Winds will generally be light in the morning with typical west/southwest afternoon winds in the 10 to 20 mph range. Enjoy the last weekend of July.
