West Shore group sponsors local student

Members of the West Shore Association held their mixer at the South Lodge of Homewood Mountain Resort on Jan. 30.President Gary Chaney introduced North Tahoe High School Sophomore Sarah Doyle as the associations candidate for Snow Fest Queen.Doyle is class president at school, vice president of the drama club, a member of the high school volleyball and snowboard teams and a community volunteer, according to association members.The Snow Queen will be selected at SnowFest 2008 scheduled for Feb. 29 through March 9, 2008. The Queen candidates not only sell raffle tickets but compete in a series of activities including interviews and writing essays.Last year a couple of the candidates came up to me and said that this was the best thing they had ever done in their lives, said festival director Ruth Schnabel in a news release.For more information, call Ruth Schnabel at 583-7167 or visit http://www.tahoesnowfestival.com.
