White-out in Washoe Valley causes accidents (with video)

The Nevada Highway Patrol says a female trooper suffered moderate chest injuries when her patrol car was struck by another vehicle during white out conditions in Washoe Valley.U.S. 395 through the scenic, wind-swept valley between Reno and Carson City is closed in both directions.Trooper Scott Simon says gusty winds and blowing snow are creating icy road conditions and poor visibility.Several accidents were reported before the highway was shut down.

The following footage was taken about 11 a.m. on Old 395 near the north entrance to Franktown Road.
