Windows on History

Staff Reports

Take a walk back in time this month, as downtown Truckee prepares to celebrate Windows on History.

Historic photos of Truckee in the late 1800s will be displayed in merchant windows throughout Truckee through Memorial Day Weekend.

Brochures detailing the history of buildings are available at the Truckee-Donner Chamber of Commerce and downtown Truckee merchants.

A weekend celebration presented by the Truckee-Donner Chamber of Commerce will take place in downtown Truckee Saturday, May 29, and Sunday, May 30, as the streets will come alive with characters from the past, barbershop music and gold panning.

On May 30, Truckee-Donner Public Utility District will host an old-fashioned family social to benefit the Truckee-Donner Historical Society.
