Winds to return later this week
August 8, 2007
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE ” Mostly sunny skies and slightly warmer temperatures, along with lighter winds, can be expected today before the breezes begin to pick up once again toward the end of the week.
Highs today will warm into the mid to upper 70s, with lower to mid 80s in the warmer, lower elevations such as Markleeville.
Winds will be light, becoming westerly or southwesterly in the 10 to 15 mph range by mid to late afternoon.
Clear skies tonight along with light winds will allow temperatures to cool into the 40s with lower 50s likely in the East Shore and Kingsbury Grade areas. Winds will be picking up by the end of the week as yet another rather strong area of low pressure for August will be making its move down the West Coast, allowing for some cooler weather but still no precipitation.
