Wolverines win out in volleyball

The Truckee High volleyball team ended its regular season with a win in three games, 25-18, 25-19, 25-13, over visiting Fernley on senior farewell Thursday night.Truckee, which had already clinched the No. 1 seed in the Northern 3A, improved to 14-0 in league and 32-3 overall. Senior Alexa Terrell posted a team-high 12 kills to go along with her one block. Melanie Lashbrook had nine kills and four blocks, Callan Finney nine kills, 11 digs and one block and Kaylee Waters 19 digs. Senior setter Megan Murphy had 33 assists.While Thursday was senior farewell, the match was not the final home contest of the season for the Wolverines, who host the Northern 3A Regional Volleyball Championship in Truckees new gym Saturday.Look for more detailed information about the regional tournament this week in the Sports andamp; Outdoors.
