Woman killed in motorcycle crash identified

Police are still investigating a motorcycle crash that killed a Truckee woman last week.

Denise Martinez, 46, of Truckee was pronounced dead in the Gray’s Crossing subdivision Thursday, Sept. 18 at 7:45 p.m. after police attempted life-saving measures, according to a Truckee Police Department press release.

The Nevada County Sheriff’s Coroner listed the cause of death as multiple blunt-force trauma, said Robin Storrs, a civil assistant with the Sheriff’s office.

In a previous interview, Lt. Harwood Mitchell of Truckee Police said the motorcycle was a small scooter or moped-type bike.

No further detail regarding the cause of the accident has been released.
