Wreck claims life of Reno teen-ager

A 17-year-old Reno girl was killed in a car accident Saturday evening, when her pickup truck went off of Donner Pass Road and landed upside down on Interstate 80.

Bree Shaddrick was traveling west on Donner Pass Road over I-80 when her car went off the road, landing upside down in the westbound lane of the interstate, according to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, who handled the incident.

Capt. Gary Jacobson said Shaddrick was driving a Nissan pickup truck and was the only occupant in the vehicle when the accident occurred. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, which occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The report did not determine what caused the accident and the incident is still under investigation, as is the coroner’s case, Jacobson said.
