What is Wanderlust?

Wanderlust Festival LLC, founded in 2009, is a producer of large-scale lifestyle festival events focusing on yoga, music and mindfulness.

The company encompasses Wanderlust Festival, the largest multi-day yoga and music festivals in the world; Wanderlust 108, a one-day “mindful triathlon” taking place in urban parks across the US; Wanderlust Yoga, a re-imagination of the yoga studio experience; and the Wanderlust Teacher Training, a yoga teacher training program inspired by the Wanderlust festival experience.

In 2015, Wanderlust will produce more than 25 events across the world, centered on its core mission: creating community around mindful living. The company was founded as a joint venture between Velour Music Group, C3 Presents and Starr Hill Presents.

OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. — Wanderlust, producers of the largest yoga lifestyle events in the world, will return to the place of its birthplace this week.

The four-day retreat from Thursday-Sunday at Squaw Valley will feature “an unparalleled lineup of some of the world’s most sought after yoga teachers, musicians, meditation instructors and performing artists,” event officials said.

Instructors on site this week include Seane Corn, Shiva Rea, Sri Dharma Mittra, Ana Forest and Rod Stryker.

Attendees also can watch and practice various styles and levels of yoga; outdoor activities such as hiking, nature runs, paddle-boarding and biking; and indulge in wine tastings and organic delicacies.

Below is a sampling of what’s new at the 2015 event, according to event organizers:

Musical performances: Get down with a live performance from Michael Franti, a DJ set from Thievery Corporation and the sheer exuberance of The High and Mighty Brass Band.

Black light venue: This new space adds an extrasensory dimension to classes aimed at expanding horizons both mental and physical.

Soulscape classes: This yoga practice led by Gina Caputo and accompanied by DJs is designed to dissolve hardened boundaries and unwind the tension. Classes devoted entirely to the music of Pink Floyd, Beyonce, The Police and Bob Marley are on this year’s roster.

Musical hike with Trevor Hall: Walk in the woods accompanied by Trevor Hall to the sounds of his eclectic mix of acoustic rock and reggae.

Speakeasy talks: Including those by social entrepreneur and founder of Change Heroes, Taylor Conroy; wisdom warrior and Love Mob founder Preston Smiles; and Kundalini Master Guru Jagat.

Self massage with Mother Earth: Take a relaxing hike with Christopher Ray and Kate Lewandowski and learn how to use rocks and other items to release aches and pains and encourage muscle release.

Tribal body marking and movement: Alongside special guest Elana Meta, Amir Magal begins this partner class with exercises that incorporate acro yoga, Capoeira and balancing movements.

Ticket costs vary depending on which days you want to attend. Visit wanderlustfestival.com for full details.
