Tahoe City resident Nikki Beck will return to the Middle East with an organization called Surfing The Nations (STN). Surfing The Nations is a humanitarian non-profit 501(c)(3) committed to impacting local and international communities by meeting needs and changing lives. Their desire is to counteract the widespread perception that surfing is only about individual fulfillment and to set the foundation surfers give more than they take.

Last December Nikki joined STN in their third visit to the Middle East. They went to Egypt, Jordan and Israel and put on surf events in Alexandria and Tel Aviv. In addition they visited several orphanages including a Mother Theresa Home of Charity. They reconnected with friends from past years and continued their support with local market shop owners, surf clubs, and distributed needed goods to the people of these countries.

STN is based out of Hawaii. International bases and locations for service include Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Bali, Bangladesh and the Middle East. This year the organization will be switching their surfboards for snowboards as they head to the Middle East to support the growing snowboard and ski communities. Any donations in support of their local skiers and riders are appreciated! They will take old and new products, and do free promotions for local and international companies upon request.
