TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; The nice summer weather conditions in the area have helped get the golf season off to a great start! With this in mind, the Tahoe Mountain Club and Truckee Donner Recreation andamp; Park District joined forces to put on the inaugural andamp;#8220;Junior Golf Dayandamp;#8221; event at Old Greenwood Golf Course. This event was an overall blast for parents and juniors of Truckee. The event accommodated more than 80 junior golfers aged 5-14. It consisted of clinics, activities and contests, all related to golf put on by local golf professionals. Whether the kids had played golf before or not, all were invited to spend a Sunday afternoon in the sun learning all about the great game of golf. The motto of the event was andamp;#8220;golf is fun!andamp;#8221;Look for many junior golf programs held at Old Greenwood and through the Recreation Department at Ponderosa Golf Course throughout the summer.
