TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Tahoe Youth Ballet will present a special evening, Wednesday, Aug. 17, 6 p.m., at Sugar Pine Point State Park to raise money and awareness for these two local cultural treasures. The program will feature guest artists Damien Johnson (currently of Londonand#8217;s Ballet Black) and Stephen Straub (formerly Aspen Santa Fe Ballet and Suzanne Farrell Ballet), with TYB alumni Sierra Barter (currently enrolled in Alvin Ailey American Dance Theaterand#8217;s Certificate Program) alongside six of Tahoeand#8217;s finest young dancers. The diverse program of TYB favorites and new works will be featured with scenic Lake Tahoe as the backdrop. Proceeds from the performance will benefit the ongoing programs of both Tahoe Youth Ballet and Sierra State Parks Foundation equally.

Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 performance day, available through Brown Paper Tickets via http://www.tahoeyouthballet.com or call 1-800-838-3006. Ticket price includes park entry fee/parking. Bring your own chair or picnic blanket to enjoy the performance, wine and food will also be available for purchase at the event.
