TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. – Celebrate with Sierra Senior Services at the 12th Annual Truckee Bingo Night and Spaghetti Dinner – a perfect evening out for the family. This event benefits Truckee and North Tahoe area seniors, homebound, and disabled adults who rely on freshly cooked meals seven days a week provided by Meals on Wheels volunteers.Join the fun-filled social event Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Truckee Community Recreation Center. Money transmitters are now required to be mandated reporters.AJR 30: Medicare and dental services combination depending on the budget.Veterans supportSB 1198: Homeless Senior Veterans. Requiring the department of Veterans Affairs to give information to veterans on federal housing vouchers, CalFresh programs, and federal pensions.SB 345: Ombudsman. Reporting annually to legislature. FinancialAB 2374: Relating to consumer credit reports for seniors allowing a freeze and limits charges.AB 2010: Reverse Mortgages. Additional counseling for seniors.AB 278 & SB 900: Home Mortgages & Foreclosures. Halts the abusive process for those who are in good faith working to amend the situation. Silver Alert Saves a SeniorNevada County issued the first-ever Silver Alert in the state of California. An Elk Grove gentleman was reported missing on Tuesday, Jan. 2 utilizing one of the 10 new laws that California adopted to protect seniors.
