Captain Jon’s in Tahoe Vista hosted a special lunch and interactive concert for the Day Program students of Choices Transitional Services, a nonprofit organization serving developmentally disabled adults in the North Lake Tahoe area, Friday, March 12. Sixteen students and staff gathered in the and#8220;boathouseand#8221; and#8212; an enclosed dining area right on and over the lake with fantastic wrap-around views. They enjoyed a delicious, fresh hot lunch prepared especially for them by Chef Tony and served by restaurant co-owner, Rick Partain. The wind and waves created a mesmerizing backdrop as students enjoyed their lunch with live music offered by one of their instructors, Akiko, a local musician and singer. Drums and other instruments were out from the previous night’s open mic, and some students happily offered their hands-on rhythms to the musical mix.

The event brought smiles to all, and the Choices group left with warm memories of and#8220;Lunch on the Lakeand#8221; at Captain Jon’s.
