TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. – Lake Tahoe’s All-Women Sports Camp will host a weekend of activities in the sports of mountain biking, road cycling, triathlon and running for active women of all levels, primarily beginner to high intermediate. Lead by world-class professional women athletes and top industry instructors, ladies will experience two days of endurance clinics, group bike rides and group runs, including yoga on the beaches of Lake Tahoe and a stand-up paddling session Aug. 20 and 21, at Northstar-At-Tahoe.

This All-Women Sports Camp will offer clinics such as Sports Nutrition, Bike Maintenance, Bike Fit, Running Efficiency, Sport Psychology, Open-Water Swim Techniques, Movement Prep, Recovery/Regeneration, including Mountain Bike Skills Clinic, Road Cycling Skills Clinic, group runs and group rides that will access a variety of Lake Tahoe’s paths and trail system.

“Our camp will be a full-blown active weekend that combines sport education and outdoor fitness in an inspirational environment with like-minded women. The camp will accommodate beginners to high intermediate skill level women. Everyone will have the opportunity to either learn a new sport or sharpen skills of their current favorite sport,” said Event Director Inger Norman. Having worked in the sports/event marketing industry for more than 12 years, Inger specializes in women’s experiential marketing and knows first hand the “all-women” theme is no where near its tipping point. “Women have a way of communicating in a compassionate manner, creating a non-intimidating environment. It’s a safe place to build confidence and we’re really excited to bring all of this together for a great weekend.”

The All-Women Sports Camp will be lead by an impressive roster of women athletes such as Marla Streb, the most recognized woman in mountain biking; Jessi Stensland, professional triathlete and movement specialist and Julie Young, former U.S. Cycling Team member. With some of the strongest women names in endurance sports, the camp also includes world-class coaches and instructors who train professional athletes. Camp participants will have the opportunity to win prizes from sponsors such as Xterra Wetsuits, Camelbak, Oakley, Luna and Clif Bar.

Proceeds of Lake Tahoe’s All-Women Sports Camp will benefit Women For Women International, an organization committed to helping women survivors of war rebuild their lives.

“We found this to be a great match for our camp because many of us travel internationally and see how fortunate we are in this world. This organization educates women on their rights and teaches them a skill. They receive a monthly stipend for one year to help fund a trade or a business so they can break the cycle, gain their independence and get back their confidence,” said Norman.

Lake Tahoe’s All-Women Sport Camp is committed it sharing knowledge and building confidence in the multiple endurance disciplines of mountain biking, road cycling, triathlon and running.
