Assumption parish invites Catholics to come home

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Sacramento, covering northeastern California, including Lake Tahoe, aired thousands of prime-time TV commercials last month inviting inactive Catholics to return to the Catholic Church.

As part of the Sacramento Diocese, Assumption Parish is also participating by starting its own six-week Catholics Come Home reorientation program on Thursday evenings, beginning Jan. 21 at 6 p.m., in the parish meeting center at 10116 E St., in downtown Truckee, led by Assumptionand#8217;s new priest, Father Matthew Blank. Assumption Parish invites anyone who is interested in returning to the Catholic Church or in learning more about the Catholic faith.
