Auditions open for ‘Sleeping Beauty’

incline village – Arts For the Schools presents the nation’s largest touring children’s theater, Missoula Children’s Theatre, in a production of “Sleeping Beauty,” Feb. 26 through March 3. Missoula’s professional tour actors/directors arrive in town with a set, lights, costumes, props and makeup – everything it takes to put on a play – except the cast.

Open auditions will be held Monday, Feb. 26, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Incline High School cafeteria.

All interested students in grades 1 through 12 may audition for the more than 50 roles in the play.

The show will be rehearsed throughout the week after school, and the performances will be presented Friday, March 2, for a school show and Saturday, March 3, for two public performances at 3 and 7 p.m.

Students must be available Monday through Saturday to participate.

A special “How to Audition” workshop with Janet Lazarus will be held today from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Incline High School. Students who have never been cast or cast only once in Missoula may attend. Call 546-4602 to reserve a space.

Tickets for the public performances Saturday, March 3, will be available at the door only: adults, $8 and students, $4.

For more information, call Arts For the Schools at 546-4602.
