Bear Report

The winter season is upon us at last and almost all of the bears have decided to do what they are supposed to do … sleep for a few months. Remember, they may wake up to stretch or sun themselves on a nice day but will go right back to bed if they do not find food. Do not, under any circumstance, allow them to get your garbage. Each year, when just one person is careless, it creates enormous problems for all the people in that neighborhood. Please be good to all your neighbors, both human and bear. And have a happy winter.

The ‘Bear Report’ will resume as soon as bear activity starts up in the spring. Meanwhile, if you have questions or concerns or are suspicious that a bear may be sleeping, without paying rent, under your house, please contact the BEAR League at 525-7297 or
