TAHOE/TRUCKEE and#8212; The local nonprofit, Trails and Vistas, is looking for trail guides for the art hike held on Sept. 17 and 18 at Spooner Lake, Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park, Nev.

A trail leader is a high profile art hike position. Trail leaders are comfortable speaking in front of a group of 30 people and enjoy story telling.

In preparation to the hike, Trails and Vistas is sponsoring a breakfast workshop and#8220;Finding Your Voiceand#8221; with Deborah Kelly, marketing director of the Local Universe, on Sunday, July 24. Anyone interested in becoming a Trail Leader for Trails and Vistas in September, new and returning volunteers, is invited to attend this relaxed and educational workshop. Invite a friend to be a trail leader!

and#8220;Learn to tell your story. I believe we all have a story to tell. Learn how to find your voice, find clarity and intimacy with laughter and fun,and#8221; said Debora Kelly.

The breakfast workshop will be held Sunday, July 24, 9-11:30 a.m. at the beautiful Cedar House Sport Hotel in Truckee, a sponsor for seven years. Complimentary breakfast and workshop training will be free to all individuals interested in being a trail leader volunteer. If youand#8217;d love to help but public speaking makes you cringe, consider the role of the Caboose. The Caboose is the safety person and is partnered with a trail leader to hike at the end of the group during the hikes. During the event, a handful of people will serve as greeters and help get attendees organized. As the proverb says, and#8220;Many hands make light work.and#8221;

RSVP by July 21 to Nancy Lopez or call Nancy at 530-550-8262.

What is Trails and Vistas? and#8220;Trails and Vistas represents a true collaboration between artists of all disciplines and local nonprofits including Truckee Donner Land Trust, InnerRhythms Dance Theatre and the KidZone Childrenand#8217;s Museum. Trails and Vistas art hike cannot take place without the generosity and talent of volunteers,and#8221; said Artistic Director Nancy Tieken Lopez. She added there are a variety of ways to get involved with Trails and Vistas 2011. More than 60 volunteers are needed to create the art hike, and there are opportunities for college students and anyone interested and able to lend a helping hand and share their passion for art and the environment.
