Beer andamp; Food Fest on tap at Dragonfly

TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; Beer aficionados and Dragonfly fans, mark your calendars, call your friends and plan to attend the Beer andamp; Food Festival slated for Thursday, Dec. 1, 6-9 p.m. at Dragonfly Restaurant andamp; Sushi Bar in downtown Truckee. Attendees may stop in anytime during the evening and roam the food and beer stations, tasting terrific menu items paired with six Lagunitas Brewing Company specialty beers. Cost for Dragonfly and Lagunitas tasting event is $32 per person (tax is included).andamp;#8220;I am a huge fan of Lagunitas beer, and have been for years,andamp;#8221; said Dragonfly owner and chef Billy McCullough. andamp;#8220;I appreciate their playful approach in beer making and marketing. I look forward to highlighting their brew making with creative food pairings. Also, I love having Ben and Kimba in the house for music!andamp;#8221; Taking the beer and food pairing to a higher level, each of the six delectable food items will be paired with a specialty beer from Lagunitas Brewing Co. and created using the beer as an ingredient. A few nibbles participants may expect are Szechwan spiced butternut squash pot sticker with soy-pils dipping sauce, cured pork tenderloin with sweet and sour eggplant, spinach, and tsume-doppel weizen glaze and cheddar-sumpin soup andamp;#8220;shooterandamp;#8221; with shitake mushroom springstick. andamp;#8220;This is the first beer and food festival that we have hosted in Truckee,andamp;#8221; said Eric Kenner, andamp;#8216;Ambeersadorandamp;#8217; for Lagunitas. andamp;#8220;We are excited to be teaming up with Dragonfly and to bring our beer to Truckee locals.andamp;#8221;Beer andamp; Food Fest participants will have a chance to meet the people from the brewery and taste two of Lagunitaandamp;#8217;s limited specialty beers; Doppel-Weizen, a big double wheat beer, sweet in taste (German styled) clocking in at nine percent alcohol, and Lagunitas Sucks, a winter beer and their substitute for the Brown Shugga Ale.
