TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Arts for the Schools (AFtS) is a nonprofit organization that enhances children’s education and fosters a lifelong appreciation of the creative arts for students and communities in the Incline Village, Nev., North Lake Tahoe and Truckee region. Recent results? Local students, including at-risk and incarcerated youth, receive professional visual art instruction, providing a healthy form for self expression.
Also, adults in Placer County have access to four quarterly expression art workshops.
The Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation and donors have awarded $5,000 and $12,000 respectively to these two AFtS programs.
