TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; Dianna Brown, owner of Zano’s Family Italian and Pizzeria provided dinner for Kevin Citta of Biking For Wishes for his overnight stop in Truckee, dined with Ruth Geresy of the Truckee Donner Chamber and concierges from the Truckee California Welcome Center and members of Relay For Life Truckee-Tahoe. Citta is biking from Weed, Calif. to Asheville, N.C. to raise funds and awareness for the Make-A-Wish Foundation andamp;#8212; a 4,125 mile trek. Nathan Keese and Jenny Geresy, two Make-A-Wish recipients from Truckee were on hand to thank Kevin for his efforts for such a worthwhile organization. Special thanks to Melody Rebbeck and Rick Rucker for their generous donation of lodging for Citta at the Hampton Inn andamp; Suites of Truckee Tahoe.Citta ‘s goal is to raise at least $5,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation which grants andamp;#8220;special wishesandamp;#8221; to children who are facing life-threatening illnesses. $5,000 is the cost for the average wish. Citta has connected with Make-A-Wish because he is biking for those who can’t and hopes these youths who are suffering and their families can experience the joy of having a fun wish granted. andamp;#8220;I love bicycle travel, meeting people, seeing the land and photography,andamp;#8221; said Citta, who has also organized art shows and disc golf tournaments to support Make-A-Wish. andamp;#8220;It’s the best organization out there andamp;#8212; children are most important, and these kids don’t have the options to do what I get to do.andamp;#8221;Follow Kevin’s efforts across the country and/or make a donation for Biking For Wishes at http://www.kevincitta.blogspot.com or directly http://www.wish.org.andamp;#8212; Submitted to aedgett@sierrasun.com
