Bracelets help fight breast cancer; local retailers Cabona’s and Jackass Ridge sell charm bracelets

Paul Raymore

In an effort to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, local retailers Cabona’s and Jackass Ridge are selling exclusive charm bracelets designed to symbolize breast cancer awareness.

The bracelets, which are made by Brighton Accessories, will be available throughout the month of October, and part of the proceeds from the sale of the bracelets will go toward breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs.

Brighton Accessories has pledged to donate $5 for each bracelet sold to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Both Cabona’s and Jackass Ridge have pledged to match each $5 donation made, with all funds going to a local breast cancer foundation.

The bracelets feature heart-shaped charms inscribed with the words hope, faith, strength, courage, trust, love and heal on them. In addition, one of the charms is shaped like a pink ribbon to symbolize breast cancer awareness.

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is fighting to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. In addition to funding research, the Komen Foundation supports education, screening and treatment projects in communities around the world and delivers the life-saving message of early detection to millions of women and men. For more information, visit the Komen Foundation’s Web site at http://www.komen.org or call 1(800) 462-9273.
