Calling all actors!

TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Two theater workshops will begin next month, offered through the Truckee Donner Recreation and Park District, and led by drama teacher and director Courtney Simson.

Kids on Broadway presents: and#8220;Itand#8217;s Christmas!and#8221; Open to Truckee and Tahoe children in second through sixth grades.

Act in and#8220;How the Grinch Stole Christmasand#8221; and and#8220;The Polar Express.and#8221;

Sing and dance in the musical revue, and#8220;Around the World at Christmas Time.and#8221;

Everyone will be in lots of numbers with many solos. Plus, there will be an opportunity to perform with the Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus at the Resort at Squaw Creek.

Rehearsals will be Thursdays and Fridays, 3:45-5:45 p.m. beginning Oct. 4. Join on of the two days if you canand#8217;t do both and#8230; youand#8217;ll still be in all three shows.

Fee: $150 for 10 weeks, costumes included. Scholarships will be available for this fun performance class .

Lights, Camera, Acting: This is a video production workshop where you will learn how to make great movies, starring you. Work with camcorders, iPOD Touches, and clay animation to produce scenes from famous plays and an original animated movie. Learn how to add music and sound effects to make your video shine. Enter festivals to win awards. Last yearand#8217;s class took first place in video at the Sacramento State Fair. Your video could be the next blue ribbon. Classes will be Tuesdays, Oct. 9 through Dec. 4.

Showcase for family and friends on the last day, and a DVD of all your great projects included. If you love to act and love technology, this class is for you. Fee: $100 for nine weeks.
