Campaign raised $58,000 last year
“If you haven’t got charity in your heart, you have the worst kind of heart trouble.”
Today the Sierra Sun and Tahoe World, in conjunction with Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation, kick off the Gifts for Good campaign.
This is your opportunity to give to support the organizations that make our community better day in and day out. Gifts for Good makes it easy for you to give: One donation to Gifts for Good will benefit dozens of organizations that support our community.
Here’s how it works. You make a tax-deductible donation to Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation Gifts for Good campaign in any amount – whether it’s $5 or $500,000 – and select an area you’d most like to support. Your donation will be pooled with gifts from many others and granted to nonprofit organizations in Truckee-North Tahoe to help them continue their important work.
Last year our community gave more than $58,000 to Gifts for Good. Through these gifts we touched the lives of each and every permanent and part-time resident in our community by supporting organizations that improve the lives of children, alleviate hunger, bring music to our region, and enhance the region’s environment and our enjoyment of it.
During this busy holiday season, I hope you will take time to share your blessings with your neighbors – it’s good for our community and it’s good for your heart.
In January, we will publish an ad in the Tahoe World and Sierra Sun that lists all contributors to Gifts for Good. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if every single person in our community were listed?
Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation promotes philanthropy and strengthens community. For more information on the foundation or the Gifts for Good campaign, contact Lisa Dobey at 587-1776 or email@example.com.
