Cause to celebrate in Truckee Tahoe

Dick Warner, a summer resident of Tahoe Donner will celebrate his 80th birthday on Aug. 14, with family and friends with a BBQ and a game or two of Bocci ball.

On Sunday two locals reunited after more than 50 years separation. They attended a musical recital at the St. Francis of Assisi Church in Incline Village where Dave is a volunteer of the Tahoe Chamber Music Society and Louetta an often attendee. Captain Dave Briscoe (retired) of the Northstar Fire Department was 5 years old in 1960 when he was in the kindergarten class of and#8220;Mrs. Millsand#8221; in Kings Beach. Mrs. Mills, aka Louetta Riley, left the area to be a teacher-counselor in the inner city of Los Angeles returning to Tahoe City when she retired in 1986. Sunday, Dave shared with and#8220;Mrs. Millsand#8221; a momento of his kindergarten days in the form of a and#8220;Birthday Book 1960and#8221; made by his classmates. Ms. Riley will celebrate her own birthday next February when she will be eighty. She welcomes former Kings Beach students to reach her at boboloo@sbcglobal.net.
