Celebrate National Public Lands Day with the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship

QUINCY and#8212; Join the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship (SBTS) for trail work parties in celebration of National Public Lands Day Saturday, Sept. 25. This event celebrates service and recreation on public lands and is the nation’s largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands Americans enjoy.

The SBTS will be heading up three different trail work projects located near Bucks Lake, and include: Bucks Creek Loop Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail and Granite Gap Trail. Come get dirty, all volunteers will be rewarded with breakfast snacks, a sack lunch, and an after work BBQ with cold drinks compliments of Sierra Nevada Brewery at the end of the day. Volunteers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to attend. Please bring your own work gloves, water and sun protection. Meet at the White Horse Campground off of the Bucks Lake/Oroville Highway at 9 a.m. and will depart for trail projects from there. All of the food, tools and after work party will be provided to volunteers for the day. The after-work barbecue and party will be held at Bucks Lakeshore Resort at 3 p.m.

Sign up by e-mail to emily@sierratrails.org or call 530-836-4333. More details can be found online at http://www.sierratrails.org.
