Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Dragonfly with festive prix-fixe dinner

Special to the Sun

TRUCKEE, Calif. – Start the New Year off right with a delicious four course, prix-fixe meal at Dragonfly Restaurant and Sushi Bar. Whether you are starting off a night of club hopping or tucking in early to make first chair, ring in 2013 at Dragonfly.

Chef Billy McCullough created a menu at $60 per person. Guests start off with teasers that include smoked trout mousse crostini and buckwheat bilini with dill creme fraiche and salmon caviar. Diners may then choose between four appetizers, such as golden and ruby beet-truffled goat cheese ravioli with baby arugula and roasted fennel salad or Maine lobster, avocado, mint, and mango lettuce wraps with rice noodle vermicelli, tropical Nouc-Cham, and lemongrass-yuzu cream.

The main course choices include grilled pole-caught North Carolina swordfish with Hoisin barbecue sauce, pineapple-bok choy fried rice and mizuna-green toasted almond salad, slow braised short ribs with grilled broccolini, creamy polenta, and mandarin-ginger chutney or Asian cioppino with white prawns, Dungeness crab, swordfish, Penn Cove mussels, and grilled sourdough baguette with yuzu aioli. Eggnog cheesecake streudel with caramel sauce or chocolate mousse with fresh berries are two of the delicious dessert choices to finish your meal.

Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available, as is a kids menu. Make your reservations today and send 2012 off in style.

Dragonfly Restaurant and Sushi Bar is located upstairs at 10118 Donner Pass Road, in downtown Truckee. Reservations for dinner are recommended at 530-587-0557. The Sushi Bar is first come, first served. Check out Dragonfly on the web at http://www.dragonflycuisine.com or “like” them on Facebook.
