Chamber to host how to start a business workshop

TAHOE CITY, Calif. and#8211; As part of its Chamber EDucation program, the North Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Sierra Economic Development Corporation is hosting a and#8220;How to Start a Businessand#8221; Workshop Thursday, Oct. 13, noon-1:30 p.m., at Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort, 6834 North Lake Tahoe Blvd., Tahoe Vista. Deadline to register is Tuesday, Oct. 11.

This workshop, taught by Brent Smith of the Sierra Economic Development Corporation, will assist attendees in minimizing their risks and walk them through the steps in the business start-up process. Theyand#8217;ll also learn about free resources.

The cost is $55 per person (payable in advance by mail or credit card), and participants need to bring their own lunch. To register, call the Sierra Economic Development Corporation at 530-823-4703 or e-mail info@sedcorp.biz.



The North Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce is operated under the umbrella of the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association (NLTRA), which also operates the Tahoe North Convention and Visitors Bureau and is a partner with the Incline Village Crystal Bay Visitors Bureau in the North Lake Tahoe Marketing Cooperative. The NLTRA also serves as a partner with Placer County and other public agencies in the development and funding of infrastructure, transit and community mobility projects designed to enhance tourism and community quality of life for the benefit of all in the North Lake Tahoe region.
