Chocolate fest set for March
CRYSTAL BAY – Tahoe Women’s Services will host “For Chocolate & Lovers Only,” the 13th annual chocolate fest Saturday, March 24 at the Tahoe Biltmore.” This community event features chocolate creations of North Shore chefs and chocolatiers.There be fine chocolate confections made with Dove chocolates, wine tasting and entertainment. Incline Village pianist Tim Callicrate, who plays at the Resort at Squaw Creek and the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, will perform. He is noted for his CDs “Serenade from Tahoe,” Volumes 1 and 2.This year’s event also features a live auction; among the top items will be a Jeep Cherokee from Carson Jeep Nissan and an Audi A4 from Lithia of Reno.Gary D. Pennycuff, a professional auctioneer from Texas, will conduct the auction.Other auction items include all terrain vehicles, a stay at a bed and breakfast, local cruise tickets, lift tickets, floral arrangements, free dinners, fine jewelry, art and a one-of-a-kind set of sculpted steel tables by local artist Nancy Morze.North Shore chefs and chocolatiers, from such establishments as the Lone Eagle Grille, Sunnyside Resort, Magic Mountain Catering, Sunshine Pastry & Provisions, Earthly Delights, the Lake Tahoe Brewing Co. and the Big Water Grille, will compete for “Loveliest Taste,” “Best Presentation” and “People’s Choice” awards.Tickets are $30 each; you must be 21 to attend. The price includes hors d’oeuvres, chocolate sampling, wine tasting, a silent auction, live music and raffle and door prizes.
